Does Browse Folder scan subfolders?

Yes — all levels deep. Select your top-level Movies folder and every video file inside it will be found, regardless of how many subfolders deep it lives.

What if the wrong movie is matched?

Double-click the result in the preview list to open a manual TMDB search. Type the correct title and pick from the results.

Does it modify the video file itself?

No. Only the filename and folder name are changed. The video data inside the file is never touched.

Can I undo a rename?

Yes. Press Ctrl+Z or click the Undo Last button to reverse the most recent batch.

Troubleshooting

TMDB API key not working

Make sure you're using the v3 API key (not the Bearer token).
Check for extra spaces when pasting.

Permission denied when renaming

Ensure you have write permissions to the folder.
On Windows, try running the app as administrator.

Antivirus, SmartScreen, or malware warnings during installation

Movie Renamer Ultimate is not malware. Some antivirus tools may still warn about new independent desktop apps, especially before a new release has built up reputation with Windows SmartScreen or antivirus vendors.

If installation is blocked:

Confirm you downloaded Movie Renamer Ultimate from the official site or your account/download email.
Re-download the installer if the file was interrupted, renamed unexpectedly, or came from anywhere else.
Check your antivirus quarantine/history and restore the installer only if the download source is trusted.
On Windows, click More info in SmartScreen and verify the app name before choosing Run anyway.
